We’re working to mitigate the industry-wide security vulnerabilities known as Meltdown and Spectre. As part of our mitigation efforts, all hosts in all regions will be rebooted. This will result in your QualityBox being offline for the duration of the reboot.
All available resources have been dedicated to this maintenance effort to ensure that your QualityBox is back online as quickly as possible. We anticipate a maximum downtime of fifteen minutes, but expect most hosts to be back online much faster. We are primarily performing this maintenance during business hours so we can maximize our available resources for issues that might arise and continue to maintain service levels for our users.

(Short version: Intel played fast and loose with chip design to make their chips look better in comparison to their competitors. Now the entire computer industry is patching kernels to make software do what the hardware is supposed to do.)
